    • Larry L. Logsdon, 73, formerly of Port Byron, died at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.

      Burial will be in the Schaeffer Cemetery, rural Port Byron with graveside military rites conducted by the Coe Lamb American Legion Post 421.

      Larry was the son of Clarence and Edith (Spear) Logsdon.

      He married Brenda Mae Wells on August 14, 1959 in Shreveport, LA. She preceded him in death on September 11, 1995. Larry served in the U. S. Air Force from 1957 to 1963. He then went to work for the Rock Island Railroad for four years. Larry spepent the next 29 years at Alcoa, retiring in 1995. He was a member of the Rock Island Masonic Lodge #658, and Valley of Moline Consistory. Larry enjoyed spending time at his condo in Branson. He liked getting together with his friends and playing Euchre. Larry's greatest passion was following his grandchildren's activities.

      He is survived by his
      daughters,
      Michelle (Matthew) DeCap, Hampton,
      Melissa (Toby) Loy, Davenport;
      sister,
      Judith (Ernie) Harvel, Colona, IL;

      grandchildren, Brandon DeCap, Andrew (Randi) DeCap, Mitchel Loy, Meghan Loy; and

      4 great grandchildren.

      In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents.
