Wayne Rudolph Holst, 65, rural Camanche, Iowa, died Thursday morning, December 20, 2007 at home.
Wayne was born January 2, 1942 in Davenport, Iowa. He was the son of Rudolph and Helen (Schurr) Holst. Wayne had been in the Army National Guard. He married Dorothy DeCap September 20, 1969 in Port Byron, Illinois. They farmed in rural Clinton and Scott County.
He collected toy tractors and antique farm tractors. Wayne loved farming and being outdoors. He was a history buff and belonged to the Central Community Historical Society. He was also a member of the Hay Producers of Scott County and a past member of the Clinton County Soil Conservation.
Surviving is his wife, Dorothy Holst; children John Holst, Davenport and Mary (Matthew) Kuehl, Powell, Ohio; grandchildren, Kathryn and Lola Kuehl; his mother, Helen Holst, Bettendorf and his brothers, Marvin Holst, Omaha, Nebraska and Elwyn (Christine) Holst, Davenport, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his father Rudolph Holst.
Services will be held at 11:00 am. Saturday, December 22, 2007 at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt. Visitation will be held from 9:00 until 10:50 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
Burial will be held at a later date at the McCausland Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Genesis Hospice of Clinton County.
