  	Julien died all of a sudden and as they had no children and were very much on their own Marie-Louise took her own life. She took her small dog with her in a basket on her bicycle and drove to the canal only one or two kilometers from her house and just across the border with Holland. There she jumped into the water. I felt so sorry for her and for the dog as well, I walked miles along the shore to see whether I would see the poor animal trying to reach the shore but no such luck.
