| 356 | Lorraine H. Rizzotto, age 83 of Gardiner NY, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, April 25, 2015, with her family by her side. She is the beloved daughter of the late Samuel Lawson and the late Evelyn Brach Lawson. Lorraine was predeceased by her loving husband, Nicholas Rizzotto, on September 15, 1995. Lorraine enjoyed gardening and spending her time outdoors with her family. She took great pride in her beautiful flower gardens each year. Lorraine lived for the summer days where she could sit by the pool and enjoy the sunshine with her favorite cocktail in hand. She spent her life devoted to her family and friends. A family statement reads, “Our mom will be sadly missed but will always and forever be in our hearts. Our mom was fully dedicated to her family and full of love for all with total selflessness. As sad as it may be to lose mom, we know she is with the love of her life, her loving husband, Nicholas. Rest in peace mom! We love you and miss you so much.” Surviving are three daughters, Sharon A. and her husband Oliver Thomas Byrne of Clintondale, NY, Denise and her husband Louis Sukunda of Gardiner, NY, and Phyllis and her husband Gregory Paschall of Middle Hope, NY, one sister, Edith Bruhlmann of Wallkill, NY, grandchildren and their spouses, Luke and his wife Heather Sukunda of Milton, NY; Acecia and husband Rick Boeckmann of Modena, NY; Catlin Sukunda of Gardiner, NY; Talon Sukunda of Gardiner, NY; Nicole and her husband Walter Coutant of Gardiner, NY; Sara Byrne of Spackenkill, NY; and Tanner and Sierra Paschall of Middlehope, NY; great grandchildren include, Stevie and Luke Sukunda of Milton, NY; Halley, Raurey & Dealya Boeckmann and Kacy Kaufmann; many nieces, nephews and cousins. | 357 | Louis George Sukunda Jr, age 68, of Barefoot Bay, FL, formerly of Gardiner, NY, left earth to be with God and his wife, Denise, on September 28, 2020. He was at home in Florida surrounded by family and loved ones when he passed. He was born April 21, 1952 in Flushing, NY, the son of the late Louis and Joan (Lemke) Sukunda. He married the absolute love of his life, Denise Rizzotto, on September 16, 1973. Louie was employed as an Iron Worker for more than 40 years with Local 40, working mostly in New York City. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend and co-worker. He told the best stories and jokes. You could go to him with a question about anything. He was awesome at dispensing good life advice and helping you to see things from a different point of view. Everyone looked up to him and you could count on him for help with anything. He really loved being with his children, grandchildren and the rest of the family, especially during the holidays. He had retired to Barefoot Bay, FL a few years ago and enjoyed being there with family and friends. Some of his favorite activities were fishing, hunting and cooking with his wife. Louis is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Luke and Heather Sukunda of Milton, his daughter and son-in-law, Acecia and Ricky Boeckmann of Modena, his daughter, Catlin Sukunda and her fiance Mike Mitzner of Gardiner, his son, Talon Sukunda and his longtime girlfriend Brittany Ormond, of Gardiner. He was blessed with many grandchildren: Stevie, Halley, Luke, Raurey, Dealya, Kacy, Evan, Harmony and one more on the way. Also left behind are his beloved sister, Connie Dirago, his sister-in-laws and their husbands: Sharon and Tom Byrne of Highland and Phyllis and Greg Paschall of Marlboro, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, most especially Tonya Tozzi, TJ Dirago and Cheyenne Nava. He was predeceased by his brother, Keith Sukunda. He enjoyed a special, lifetime friendship with his cousin Billy Lemke and his best friend Mario Milano, who were like brothers to him. He was also extremely close with their families. The family wishes to express their sincere & profound gratitude to all who helped to care for their dad during the last few months especially Aunt Steph (Lemke) and Aunt Connie (Dirago). A Celebration of Life will be held on November 7 from 1-4pm at Copeland Funeral Home in New Paltz followed by a gathering at the Sukunda residence at 1034 Bruynswick Rd in Gardiner, NY. He leaves to cherish his memory Estelle, his loving wife oof 56 years, his two sons, Gilbert (Gina), Richard (Lori) and five grandchildren Patrick (Shelley), Scott (Nadine), Matthew (Goda), Shannon and Emma. He is also survived by his brothers Maurice and George (Linda) and sisters Alice Verhelst, Julilie Wilson, Madeline Hicks and numerous nieces and nephews. Marcel was born in Lafleche, Saskatchewan and grew up on the family farm in Fir Mountain. He was employed at many different jobs like driving truck, farming and working in a locker plannt before he found his true vocation as an expert painter. When he was 20 years old he made his first trip to B.C. with his brother Camille where he worked for a few years. He returned to Saskatchewan where he met and married his soulmate Estellle on October 1, 1952. In 1959 he moved his family to Kamloops where they have resided since that time. Dad worked as a contract painter for Summers Color Center for 10 years before going to work for the B.C. Government. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM, Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 916 E. Rusholme, Davenport. Visitation will be from 5-730 PM, Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at The Runge Mortuary. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island. Mary was born in Davenport, Iowa on August 22, 1921. She was one of eleven children born to Alfonse and Mary (DeCapp) Beert. They farmed in Long Grove, Iowa for many years and then moved to Davenport after the children were grown. Mary was married to Gustave Guenther, Jr. on August 23, 1947. He preceded her in death July 14, 2002. While Mary was a homemaker for most of her married life, she worked outside the home at Petersen Harned Von Maur, beginning at the downtown store in Davenport. She began her career in the candy department, then became a clerk who floated to various departments as needed. She retired from the Northpark Mall store in 1977. Mary and Gus enjoyed many activities during their retirement years. They travelled with the Plus 60 group, and shared many other interests, including music, baseball and riverboat gambling. They also enjoyed their UNO card club and countless euchre games with family and friends. Many nights they could be found dancing at the Walcott Coliseum. Mary is survived by her children: Patricia (Ken) Ceurvorst, Cynthia (Tom) Byrne, Kevin (Linda) Guenther and John (Marie) Guenther. Sisters Helen Hurlburt, Clara (Jim) Petersen, brother Camiel (Mercedes) Beert, Sister-in-law Ruth Guenther. Seveen grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, Brothers, Julius, Albert, Raymond and Cyril (Charlie). Sisters Marguerite Blondell, Ann Grabbe, Alice Avey.
